Modern brewing

Craft Asylum is a member of the SALT Family, part of the Ossett Brewery Group. Our mothership and the iconic brewery, Salt Beer Factory is housed in a Grade II listed Edwardian tramshed, located in the UNESCO village of Saltaire, Bradford.

About the Beer

‘Unifying heritage with modern brewing’

Saltaire was built by a super progressive mill pioneer in the 1800s. The brewery aims to adopt the same progressive spirit through modern brewing styles. The inspiration of SALT’s forefathers can be seen in the name, throughout the brewery, and the textiles used to name each of the core beers.

All beers are handcrafted & hop-forward, have a look at the core range and current specials we have on offer!

Artisan Gin

A colourless alcoholic beverage made from distilled or redistilled neutral grain spirits predominantly flavoured with juniper berries and other botanicals.

As well as the popular classics, if you fancy something different, we’ve paid great attention to all the 50 gins we have on offer. Take the Boe Violet Gin for example spiced with light floral notes leaving a delicate taste of sweet violets and the That boutique-y Gin Company’s Spit Roasted Pineapple bringing a fruity kick to the palate.

Premium Coffee

Our premium hot drinks are proudly sourced from Dark Woods Coffee in Marsden.

Situated in a river-side Victorian textile mill, Dark Woods roast their coffee on a vintage Probat drum roaster. They use speciality grade coffees, (scoring more than 80% in Speciality Coffee Association grading) which have cleaner more distinctive flavours than cheaper commercial coffees and are traceable to skilled farmers and their farms across the world. Carefully roasted to produce an array of flavours to suit a wide range of styles and tastes – which may be why Dark Woods were awarded more Great Taste Awards than any other coffee company this year, as well as another “Golden Fork” for Best Northern Product.
